Position performs basic turfgrass management; oversees applications of fertilizer, overseeding, and irrigation of athletic fields.  Also performs a variety of manual work and tasks requiring the use of simple motorized equipment and hand tools. Landscapes and maintains recreation parks and grounds including mowing grass, raking leaves, trimming shrubbery, removing trash and brush from grounds, planting trees, shrubbery, flowers, and assisting with the lining of athletic fields. Schedules and supervises staff pertaining to weekend baseball/softball/and soccer tournaments.  Requires weekend work at sites to make sure field issues are resolved (staffing/maintenance/weather conditions/damage etc.) Position also helps maintain both indoor and outdoor recreation facilities.  Must have an Associate’s degree in Turfgrass Management Technologies or related field or equivalent experience and a pesticide applicator certification (turf and ornamental) or be able to attain within 12 months.   Must have working knowledge of tools and equipment used in landscaping and maintenance of recreational facilities.  Must be able to perform heavy manual work in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift 75 lbs. safely and be able to bend, stoop and climb in a variety of construction and maintenance situations.    Must have a driver's license. Starting pay depended on experience and qualifications (pay range from $31,149 to $46,723).  Open until filled. EOE
