Sanitation Worker

Position responsible for performing skilled and semi-skilled work and will be required to operate a variety of sanitation trucks/equipment to collect garbage throughout our City limits. Position may be required to operate a small pickup truck, 1-ton dump truck, 2-ton dump truck, rear loader and front loader. Position will be primarily assigned to residential household waste collection on an assigned route. Position will collect bagged residential/commercial garbage, yard waste, curbside rubbish, furniture, scattered garbage, construction debris, etc. Position may include assignments during storms and emergencies such as tree or snow removal during street clearing operations.  Must be able to perform minor maintenance, cleaning and related care of motorized equipment used. Must have working knowledge of traffic laws and regulations affecting the operation of motorized equipment.  Must be able to obtain a Class B driver's license.  Must be able to climb in and out of equipment, and lift 50 lbs safely.  Starting salary: $ 32,706.  Application period ends on April 17, 2024..
