Morganton Public Safety Responds to Bomb Threat

MORGANTON, NC — Morganton Public Safety responded to a reported bomb threat at the Food Lion located at 1230 Burkemont Avenue. Upon receiving the report, store management promptly evacuated the store. Businesses attached to the shopping center were also evacuated while personnel conducted a thorough search of the area for any suspicious items.

After the buildings were cleared and no suspicious items were located, store management made the decision to reopen the businesses and resume normal operations.

Morganton Public Safety continues to investigate the incident.
