City of Morganton Parks and Recreation - Photography Contest Form - PLEASE READ ALL CONTEST RULES BEFORE SUBMITTING ANY PHOTOS.
To celebrate National Parks and Recreation Month, the City of Morganton Parks and Recreation Department is holding a photography contest! Please see all the details below!
We want to encourage everyone to go outside and enjoy our beautiful City of Morganton parks and recreation facilities during the month of July for National Parks and Recreation Month. While enjoying our City parks bring along your camera and capture beautiful moments and submit them into the contest!
There will be three different age brackets and three winners selected from each age bracket.
- Kids – ages 12 and under
- Youth – ages 13-17
- Adults – ages 18 years and older
Each winner selected will have their submitted photo on display at the Collett Street Recreation Center for the Month of August! Each winner in each bracket will receive City of Morganton Parks and Recreation credit. These can be used to go toward facility rental, swimming pool access, sports registration, activity registration, etc. This cannot be redeemed for cash.
1st place winners - $100 City of Morganton Parks and Recreation credit
2nd place winners - $50 City of Morganton Parks and Recreation credit
3rd Place winners - $25 City of Morganton Parks and Recreation credit
Photos can only be submitted from July 1st – July 31st (whole month of July). The final cut-off for submission is July 31st at 5pm. Anything submitted after that time will not be eligible for the contest.
Photos will be judged by City employees and members of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. Winners will be announced on the City website and social media in August.

- To enter, you must fill out the City of Morganton Parks and Recreation - Photography Contest Form with the required information, including your name, location of photo, telephone number, e-mail address, etc.
- You also need to acknowledge that you have read, understand and agree to be bound by these Official Rules. By submitting an entry, you warrant that your entry complies with all the requirements set out in these Official Rules.
- All photographs must be in digital format, although they need not be taken with a digital camera. Scans are acceptable, provided they meet the requirements of these Rules.
- Only online entries will be accepted.
- All submissions must be the result of direct human effort and camera capture. AI-generated images or background elements are not eligible.
- Each entrant may submit up to three (3) photos. Each photo must have the location included (you can submit the location in the JotForm linked on this page). High resolution photo preferred.
- Submitted photographs must be the original photograph of the entrant and must be the property of the entrant.
- Photographs must not infringe any copyright or trademark rights or violate any rights of privacy or publicity.
- Photos that contain obscene, defamatory, sexually explicit or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content will be disqualified in the sole discretion of the City of Morganton.
- Photos must be taken at a City of Morganton park or recreation facility during the month of July 2026 for National Parks and Recreation Month and during the hours that parks are open to the public.
- Only minor editing of the photographs is acceptable. Extensively manipulated images will not be eligible.
By submitting the photos you give the City of Morganton the right to use them online in social media posts and to display them at a City of Morganton facility.
