Position operates a variety of machines, equipment and control mechanisms of the Wastewater Treatment plant. Work includes frequent checks of the facility equipment and processes, operating variety of valves, motors and pumps. Collecting wastewater samples, perform laboratory testing, written logging and recordkeeping. Investigating and troubleshooting variety of faults/alarms, making minor repairs. Large tank filling and draining with wash-downs using water/fire hoses.
Must be able to frequently ascend and descend stairs. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. safely. Must be able to successfully pass the first level exam of State of NC required plant operator’s certification program within three exam cycles. Must have a valid NC driver’s license. Must be a high school graduate.
Operation hours will be night shift 7:00 pm – 7:00 am, every other weekend and some holidays are required. Starting salary - $ 38,997. ($18.75/hr.) Open until filled.
