Contractors will be conducting work on South Sterling Street Tuesday morning beginning at 9 a.m. at the entrance to Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge that will affect traffic patterns in the area.
Crews will be spot drilling to locate existing utility lines at the intersection of South Sterling Street and the hospital entrance. During this time, the left turn lane exiting the hospital will be closed. Traffic needing to turn left out of the hospital can still do so, but will be required to use the lane heading straight out of the hospital before turning left.
Traffic traveling north on South Sterling Street will be reduced to one lane at the hospital’s entrance. Traffic in the right lane will be required to turn right into the hospital, but traffic in the left lane will flow freely.
The work is expected to take approximately three hours to complete. Once work is completed, traffic patterns will return to normal.
