City crews are asking customers to prepare for two planned power outages Thursday night and early Friday morning happening while they work to replace power poles.
Crews will begin replacing a power pole at Poplar Street and Carbon City Road at about 9 p.m. Thursday. Approximately 60 customers on Poplar Street, Myrtle Street and Coulter Street will be without power for four to five hours while crews replace the pole. For a brief moment when repairs begin, a number of customers on Carbon City Road and in Morganton Heights will experience an outage that will last less than a minute while crews switch over circuits.
Immediately following this repair, crews will move to West Fleming Drive, where they will replace a power pole in front of Case Farms. Customers should be prepared for this outage to begin as early as 12:30 a.m. Friday. There will be another minor interruption in power service for a number of customers when this repair begins, which will last less than a minute as crews switch power between circuits. Approximately 200 customers on Henry’s Glen Drive, Burke Drive, Alwran Street, Ramsey Street, Cline Street, South College Street, State Road, Harry Drive, Morgan Drive, Overlook Street, Simpson Street and Ones Branch Court will be without power for the duration of the repairs, which are expected to last approximately one hour.
