Heavy rain from Tropical Storm Michael has caused an ongoing sewer spill into Hunting Creek, which flows into the Catawba River.
The spill, consisting of mostly rainwater, started today, October 11, 2018, at approximately 12 p.m., and is expected to stop when water levels recede. The spill happened at a junction box on Vinearden Road at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
