Want to give some input about the City's planned skate park? Then stop by the Collett Street Recreation Center at 6:00 pm, Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016. The City Parks and Recreation Department will hold a public meeting about the skate park to get public input.

Parks and Recreation Director Rob Winkler said he hopes to get some ideas and feedback from local skaters on what they want in a skate park. Winkler may also discuss possible locations for the park.

“We want the kids to give us a wish list of what they want so we have an idea of how best to move forward,” Winkler said.

The City budgeted money in the 2016-2017 budget to help build the skate park and the Morganton Recreation Foundation also committed funds.

The Collett Street Recreation Center is located at 300 Collett St. in downtown Morganton.
