Traffic Stop Leads to Narcotics Charges

On Thursday, March 7, 2023, an officer with Morganton Department of Public Safety conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation.  A probable cause search of the vehicle yielded substances that tested positive for fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana.

The driver, Hannah Nicole Miller, 29, of Vilas NC, was charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance
  • Possession of Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Marijuana

Miller was held under a $10,000.00 secured bond.  A first appearance in court is scheduled for March 8, 2024, in Burke County.
