Public Safety Responds to Early Morning Vehicle Fire

On May 12, 2025 at approximately 8:00 AM, Members of the Morganton Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the area of South College Street and Herron Street. Upon arrival, responding units discovered a pickup truck with the passenger compartment fully involved in fire. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the blaze within moments of arriving on scene. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported during this incident.
