The Bluegrass Camp for Kids is part of the City of Morganton Parks and Recreation Department's annual Red, White and Bluegrass Festival. The camp is open to children ages 5 to 18 years old, but they must bring their own instrument! Campers will learn new tunes and can participate in Jam Camp.

The annual HOP (Help Our Project) Race is hosted by and benefits the projects of the Morganton Service League (MSL). In past years, race proceeds have contributed to the major renovation of Martha's Park, an innovative play set in Freedom Park and the "Adventure Playground" in Catawba Meadows Park. The latest addition completed in 2013 is located at the Catawba River Soccer Complex.
